NEW PRODUCTS - INCONEL MANIFOLDS & SUPERLIGHT RACE PIPES
We're very excited to launch our direct replacement Inconel Race Manifolds & Superlight Race Pipes suitable for all 992 GT3 / RS & 991.3 GT3RS / Speedster models.
From the 991.1 GT3 to the latest 991.2 GT3 RS, the factory exhaust system is somewhat a compromised piece. Porsche have engineered an exhaust system which will meet the requirements of each and every customer, from the every day driver to the most avid track day fan.
The introduction of WLTP regulations have seen the integration of OPF (exhaust particulate filters) into the latest generation of models with the 991.2 GT3 RS (OPF) / 991.2 Speedster & 992 GT3 / RS being no exception.
The OPF serves as an emissions device but has a secondary impact which is very obvious to anyone who's heard just how muted all of the latest generation cars sound.
Our exhaust solutions for these OPF equipped cars release performance and unlock the glorious sound.
We began development on this range of products back in 2021 and have worked across the platforms, waiting until we were able to verify performance on the 992 GT3 RS (new engine specification) prior to release.
Needless to say we're extremely excited to finally be launching this new range of products, we've produced a video summarising some of the development and testing process which you can check out below:
We have also produced a more in-depth look into what the parts can offer within the information in this blog.
As ever, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
JCR INCONEL RACE MANIFOLDS (OEM REPLACEMENT)
Dyno testing
We tested on the Dyno using a brand new 992 GT3 RS and found it responded very nicely to the changes. In the video above you can check out the results.
This car delivered relatively low stock numbers but the important thing for us is the HP delta between stock and with JCR parts installed as we tested all combinations back to back on the same day.
We tested with our Inconel Race Manifolds installed with the factory rear silencer and tips and we saw peak gains of 21HP & 36TQ vs OEM Exhaust Manifolds.
A very interesting point to note was the much improved consistency with the JCR Inconel Race Manifolds installed. In stock form the power figures dropped as much as 30hp over the course of 5 successive runs where as with the JCR Inconel Race Manifolds installed the power figures dropped only 5hp.
This improved consistency is very noticeable when pushing the car on track since the car is running at high temperatures at all times.
Dragy testing
As with any of our performance focussed products all verification testing will also include real world back to back testing in a controlled environment. We use the 100-200kph test as we feel this is the most representative for fast road / track acceleration data.
For the final sign off of our Inconel Race Manifolds we tested a 992 GT3 MR at Donington Park, running back to back tests with 100% OEM exhaust system versus JCR Inconel Race Manifolds combined with OEM rear silencer.
It's very important to state that this test was not about attempting to post the fastest outright 100-200kph acceleration times. Instead this is to conduct a fair test to demonstrate the performance improvements in a real world setting. The test car was a 992 GT3 MR running Cup2R tyres with max aero settings and 1/2 tank of fuel.
Both tests were completed within 2 hours (allowing time for swapping components) and the results were as follows:
100% OEM EXHAUST
Run 1 (19c - 330m D/A) (66f - 984ft D/A) (7.53s 100-200kph)
Run 2 (19c - 330m D/A) (66f - 984ft D/A) (7.62s 100-200kph)
Run 3 (19c - 330m D/A) (66f - 984ft D/A) (7.65s 100-200kph)
Next up was to install the JCR Inconel Race Manifolds and repeat the test programme.
JCR INCONEL RACE MANIFOLDS (OEM REPLACEMENT) & OEM REAR SILENCER
Run 1 (20c - 369m D/A) (68f - 1211ft D/A) - (7.29s 100-200kph)
Run 2 (20c - 369m D/A) (68f - 1211ft D/A) - (7.25s 100-200kph)
Run 3 (20c - 369m D/A) (68f - 1211ft D/A) - (7.19s 100-200kph)
Summary
The first thing that stood out to us was that again, the real world acceleration data backed up out findings on the dyno. With the car far less likely to de-rate (retarding ignition advance and richer fuel mixture) due to optimised primary lengths and removing the excessive restrictions caused by the OEM OPF and Cats.
In our test the car posted a time which was immediately faster than when equipped with the 100% OEM Exhaust and actually progressively got faster throughout the test runs which demonstrates a much better level of consistency.
Fastest vs fastest time showed a 0.34 second or (4.5%) improvement in the 100-200kph sprint however the true picture shows a much more significant gain in performance when we combine peak delta on run 3 for each car which demonstrated a 0.46 second or (6.0%) improvement which again falls in line with our Dyno findings.
This greater level of consistency is instantly noticeable on track with even larger performance delta's being realised on longer track sessions / long straights.
It's also worth noting that D/A (density altitude) increased by a significant 11.8% from our 100% OEM Exhaust baseline runs to when we tested with the JCR Inconel Race Manifolds installed. Testing with a higher D/A and no other changes will result in slower times so this once again proves that the performance improvements we measured in the acceleration times before and after JCR parts installed is reliable.

A very interesting point to note was the much improved consistency with the JCR Inconel Race Manifolds installed. In stock form the power figures dropped as much as 30hp over the course of 5 successive runs where as with the JCR Inconel Race Manifolds installed the power figures dropped only 5hp.

For the final sign off of our Superlight Race Pipes we tested a 992 GT3 MR at Donington Park, running back to back tests with 100% OEM exhaust system versus JCR Superlight Race Pipe (Non Silenced / Cat Delete) combined with our Titanium Megaphone Tips.
It's very important to state that this test was not about attempting to post the fastest outright 100-200kph acceleration times. Instead this is to conduct a fair test to demonstrate the performance improvements in a real world setting. Run 3 (19c - 330m D/A) (66f - 984ft D/A) - (7.65s 100-200kph)
Summary Recap
From our tests it backed up what we saw on the Dyno, where the car would produce less power / accelerate more slowly as the runs progressed. This is due to excess heat build up in the factory OPF / Cat section due to restrictions in the design.
As the heat builds the ECU will naturally de-rate (retard ignition advance and richen the fuel mixture) in order to protect the engine from excessive exhaust gas temperatures and air intake temperatures.
JCR SUPERLIGHT RACE PIPE (NON SILENCED / CAT DELETE)
Run 1 (20c - 395m D/A) (68f - 1296ft D/A) - (7.11s 100-200kph)
Run 2 (20c - 395m D/A) (68f - 1296ft D/A) - (7.09s 100-200kph)
Run 3 (20c - 395m D/A) (68f - 1296ft D/A) - (7.07s 100-200kph)
Summary
The first thing that stood out to us was that again, the real world acceleration data backed up out findings on the dyno. With the car far less likely to de-rate due to optimised primary lengths and removing the excessive restrictions caused by the OEM OPF, cats and rear silencer assembly.
In our test the car posted a time which was immediately faster than when equipped with the 100% OEM Exhaust and actually progressively got faster throughout the test runs which demonstrates a much better level of consistency.
Fastest vs fastest time showed a 0.46 second or (6.1%) improvement in the 100-200kph sprint however the true picture shows a much more significant gain in performance when we combine peak delta on run 3 for each car which demonstrated a 0.58 second or (7.6%) improvement which again falls in line with our Dyno findings.
This greater level of consistency is instantly noticeable on track with even larger performance delta's being realised on longer track sessions / long straights.
It's also worth noting that D/A (density altitude) increased by a significant 19.7% from our 100% OEM Exhaust baseline runs to when we tested with the JCR Inconel Race Manifolds installed. Testing with a higher D/A and no other changes will result in slower times so this once again proves that the performance improvements we measured in the acceleration times before and after JCR parts installed is reliable.
