JCR 992 GT3 RS PROJECT - INSTALMENT 09 (FIRST TRACK TEST)

And just like that, we’re back on track. Only nine days from collection and one day since the modifications were complete, it’s time for the JCR 992 GT3 RS to undergo it’s first round of track miles.

Silverstone's GP Circuit was the track of choice thanks to the British Racing Drivers Club first members track day of the year.

After being ran in on the road, the car was absolutely covered in road grime and was just looking a bit dirty. There’s nothing wrong with that, we use our cars. However, with the legend that is Top Marqs Detailing coming to the rescue, we were able to have a very clean car for all of our photoshoots and for the first time to head out on track.

The final touch was to add one of our Billet Titanium Folding Tow Hooks onto the car. This time with some custom touches. A polished titanium shaft, satin silver anodised tow hoop along with a monochrome Tow badge.

We'll be exploring the options when it comes to custom options for our Titanium Folding Tow hooks but first, time to test to ensure durability remains unaffected.

Once freshened up, we took the car over the Grand Prix paddock, we might be slightly biased, but this has got to be one of the most photogenic pit lanes out there! It’s one of our favourite spot for photoshoots, you can see why below.

With all of our photoshoots complete before the track even opened, it was time to get out on track and see what these cars are all about. We now understand why they’re so popular. What a phenomenal car, especially for one that still has number plates.

The main objective of the day was to really come away with a good baseline understanding of the car and how certain adjustments would influence the balance of the car.

We made some adjustments to ride heights and roll bars throughout the day and we'll be making some camber and toe adjustments back at JZM ahead of the next track event after gathering tyre data.

Overall the car performed very well but there's certainly a little work to do when it comes to having the car fully dialled in to maximise performance. Once we have a good baseline track set up we will start testing some of our development aero parts on the car.

As always with a BRDC track day, we were joined, on track, with some of the most amazing cars out there. If you can think of it, it’s probably been on a BRDC day. As well as the cars on and off circuit, we also had a fantastic bunch of friends join us, all in their respective JCR equipped cars. A great day was had by all.

With a good amount of time in the driver’s seat, it was time to head back to HQ, make some changes based on our learnings from the day ahead of a very noisy day at Donington Park GP Circuit next week.
