JCR 992 GT3 RS PROJECT - INSTALMENT 05 (DELIVERY DAY)

The day has finally come! It’s a sunny afternoon in Sutton Coldfield and the JCR team are poised and ready for a very special arrival. It only feels like yesterday that we were in the spec room finalising the specification of our 992 GT3RS but today, what we saw on the screen, will be arriving in the metal (and Carbon Fibre).

As the transporter manoeuvred its way into the parking lot, we got the first look at our brand new car. Well, almost.

With all RS products, Porsche transport fully encased in protective covers, so our spec was somewhat hidden. This however, didn’t take away from just how great these cars look. The rear wing is such a huge part of the looks of the car that you can’t miss it. The Weissach pack magnesium wheels are one of the best wheel designs out there, in our opinion.

Wheels and wing, that’s about all we can see so far, it’s time to get the covers off.

Taking the covers of these cars is like an event in itself. Revealing the spec for the first time is like unwrapping a giant present. Unzipping the covers, panel by panel slowly reveals the spec of the car. We couldn’t be happier with how it’s worked out. As you can see, we’ve gone for a very clean, minimalist spec. One that looks amazing in it’s own right but also provides the perfect base for further modifications, of which there are plenty on the way!

Going for a solid black car with silver wheels was a no brainer for us. The solid black really emphasises the highs and lows in the vehicles form as well as having the ability to look great in all different kinds of light. For the wheels, we had to go silver. After running silver wheels on our GT2RS, Turbo S, GT4 and GT4RS it was an easy decision to make. They really lift the overall look of the car whilst also showing off the stunning wheel design.

We also opted for the additional Weissach pack with roll cage, GT3RS side decals in satin silver, Exclusive design taillights, PDLS+ headlights and PCCB painted in black, we think we’ve absolutely nailed the spec on the exterior of this car and moving to the interior, it’s no different.

Inside the car it’s very much as you would expect. With the box ticked for the Weissach package, one of the main talking points in this car is the full carbon fibre roll cage. Aside from the improved safety, it also looks incredible. The carbon fibre doesn’t stop there though, we chose to have the full Carbon Fibre bucket seats, clad in black leather with silver stitch. They compliment the rest of the interior and also perfectly tie in with the exterior of the car.

But that’s enough talking, we’d like to welcome everyone to the new JCR 992 GT3RS.

As always, a huge thank you is in order to the amazing team at Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield for their ongoing help and support with our crazy ideas and projects, of which this one will be the biggest yet.

See you back here on Friday for a very special blog entry, you won’t want to miss this one!
