JCR 992 GT3 RS PROJECT - INSTALMENT 11 (DONINGTON NON SILENCED)

JCR 992 GT3 RS PROJECT - INSTALMENT 11 (DONINGTON NON SILENCED)

With track day restrictions tightening down across the UK, when RMA Trackdays announce a non-silenced day at Donington Park you can bet that we’ll be there.

With a very noisy day ahead, we pulled into garage 30 in the JCR 992 GT3 RS and started preparing for the day. With the opportunity to do some track driving without any noise limits being so rare, the calibre of cars on the day was second to none. We had the pleasure of sharing the circuit with the likes of a Corvette GT2 race car, a fire breathing Dodge Viper and so much more.

Rain. A constant in the UK for the past two weeks, but here it is again, more rain. With Donington Park being resurfaced very recently and being on a major flight path, when it rains at Donington, it becomes extremely slippery. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres aren’t known for their ability to clear masses of water, but we gave it our best shot anyway and managed to get some great track time in the morning before the heavens really opened.

The exhaust setup on the car had changed from the original system fitted upon collection. With the chance to make some proper noise, we swapped out our Silenced titanium race pipe for our non-silenced variant, providing that extra little bit of noise and tone when paired with our Inconel Race Manifolds for such a rare track day.

With time for one more quick session before lunch, we headed back out on track, this time, it was mostly dry. Being able to push these cars properly really highlights just how good the aerodynamics are, that being said, we think that we can extract a bit more performance out of the factory aero package with some small alterations here and there.

Since the arrival of our new car, everything has been very focused around the GT3 RS. However, sat alongside it in the garage, we still have our very own GT4 RS too. Being delivered straight to the circuit from the team at JZM Porsche, it was now time to make even more noise.

We have been working hard in the background to try and get our full suite of exhaust options out there and available to the public and this track day rounded off the final round of testing before full public release. Installed with our Inconel Race Manifolds, Titanium Non-Silenced Link Pipes and our Titanium Non-Silenced Non-Valved Race Pipe, this is the loudest and most power producing configuration for this car. And boy was it loud. With a huge increase in volume as well as power, we were blown away by just how much of a difference this exhaust configuration made over the factory system. We’ll be going into much more detail on the specifics soon, when we release our new products and accompanying highly detailed blog.

With our product development now complete on the GT4 RS, it’ll soon be leaving the JCR garage and on to its next owner for them to enjoy just as much as we have! With that being the case, we took the opportunity to shoot both of the JCR cars together for the last time.

With an incredible day at Donington Park coming to an end, it was time to pack up and head back to our Warwickshire HQ. Next stop, Spa Francorchamps!
