JCR 992 GT3 RS PROJECT - INSTALMENT 01 (DECIDING THE SPEC)

Like many of you, the team at JCR HQ have spent far too much time on the Porsche configurator, specifically, speccing the all new 992 GT3RS. Before our allocation came through we were pretty sure what we wanted to go with however there’s no replacement for seeing the colours and options in person. This is where the wonderful team at Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield, came to our rescue. A session in the spec room is exactly what we needed before finalising the plans for the latest and greatest addition to our garage.

All of the JCR cars are very carefully thought out, in terms of the products we plan to develop on them, the overall goal of the project and the final look that we’re aiming to achieve. The JCR 992 GT3 RS will be no exception. We want to create a look that fits with our brand. All of our previous ‘halo’ cars have been recognisable as ‘JCR cars’ without a single piece of branding on them, aside from our products themselves. We wanted to continue down this path with the JCR 992 GT3 RS. Not an easy task.

When you first walk into the spec room, you’re faced with a wall of colours and individual options, the potential for customisation is endless. In every drawer, there are more colours, interior trims, steering wheel options, brake callipers colours, there’s everything you could possibly need to help inspire our choices. Confirming the base colour is the key starting point, we can work from there.

 

As well as the configurator itself, we had a look around the dealership and parking lot for some further inspiration into how we can create a truly one-of-a-kind 992 GT3RS. After a few hours deliberating through our shortlist, we decided on a final specification and locked it in. With delivery expected around mid to late April, it’s now just a waiting game for our car to arrive before we can immediately get to work with the modifications and transformation.
